While there’s no set itinerary, every day on this journey is designed to balance adventure and relaxation. Here’s a glimpse of what your time in the Mentawai Islands might look like:
Mornings: Start the day with a hearty breakfast as the boat cruises to your first surf break. Paddle out to glassy waves and score unforgettable sessions under the rising sun.
Afternoons: Recharge with a chef-prepared lunch before heading back out for another surf, exploring nearby beaches, or snorkeling vibrant reefs. The auxiliary dinghies are always at your disposal, giving you the freedom to head to shore whenever you like.
Evenings: As the sun dips below the horizon, relax on deck with a cold drink or cast a line for some fishing. On one special evening, we’ll head to the beach for a barbecue under the stars, prepared by our onboard chef — a true highlight of the trip.
Downtime: Between surf sessions, there’s plenty of time to unwind. Whether it’s lounging on deck with a good book, taking a nap in your air-conditioned cabin, or sharing stories with fellow travelers, this trip is as much about relaxation as it is about adventure. Plus, you can surf however much (or little) as you want.

Hiya, I’m Salem, your host for this unforgettable journey. As a full-time traveler who has explored 26 countries, I’ve learned that the most meaningful adventures are the ones we share. Over the past few years, I’ve been on my own journey learning to surf, falling in love with the ocean, and capturing its beauty as a surf photographer.
This trip is more than a surf adventure — it’s a chance to connect with nature, discover the magic of the Mentawai Islands, and create memories with an incredible group of like-minded individuals. No matter your skill level, I can’t wait to share this experience with you and see where the waves take us.

A 20% deposit is due at the time of booking to secure your spot.
The rest of the payment can be split into monthly (or bi-monthly) installments as long as the entire trip is paid for 40 days in advance. -
Surf equipment isn't included. Guests bring their own gear.
It is possible to rent surfboards in Padang, Indonesia. The city of departure.

Mentawai is a renowned surf destination known for its world-class waves, but it caters more to intermediate to advanced surfers. While there are waves suitable for all skill levels, most breaks are located over reef formations, which can be challenging for beginners. We recommend at least two years of surfing experience to fully enjoy the conditions and safely navigate the reef-based breaks.

You’ll need to fly into Padang City, Sumatra. Major hubs to reach Padang include Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, and Singapore. Make sure your passport has at least 6 months of validity.

Yes, travel insurance covering adventure sports and medivac is mandatory. We recommend World Nomads, as they offer coverage for trip cancellation, theft, emergency dental, and even hire of sporting equipment if your surfboards are delayed. The cost for 13 days ranges from $50 to $70 USD.

We can cater to vegan, vegetarian, or other dietary requirements. About a month before departure, we’ll send you a questionnaire to gather information about your dietary needs and wave preferences.

To book an individual spot or the whole boat, it’s necessary a booking deposit of 20% fo the Trip value.
This amount is non refundable in case of waiver, by any reason. However, the spot can be transferred to
other person indicated by the guest, without any extra cost.
– The remaining balance must be paid 60 days prior trip departure. If the payment is not complete in
time, the reservation will be cancelled.
– No refund is applied in case for any reason, such as natural disasters, tsunami, earthquake, storms,
floods, pandemics or international borders restrictions or due to political instability, being it local,
national or global disaster.
– The remaining balance payment (not including the booking deposit) could be refunded only in case of
waiver up to 60 days before departure. Taxes for the money transfer will be paid by the guest.
